Welcome to my first website ThomsCustomTrains.com. - Pronounced "toms custom trains".
   This website is the answer to the many modelers whom I’ve had the pleasure of meeting, working with, or working for over the years who've always said I should start a website. Born in Florida in 1964 to a mother who believed that all young boys should have electric trains - that’s how I caught the bug in this "Worlds Greatest Hobby." Every year since then I’ve always had trains of one type or another. Starting with Lionel all the way to the current HO/HOn3. I’ve built nine personal layouts, eight home and one modular for public shows. One home layout was a double deck design. Two were to the point of finished scenery. "What layout is really finished?" All were working layouts. In addition I was a member of Five railroad clubs. I'm currently an active member in the Nashua Valley Railroad Association in Shirley, Massachusetts. I enjoy learning from and hoping to inspire other modelers even more with this next endeavor. I’d like to share my ongoing 30+ years experience as a serious modeler in this craft of model railroading. This is a humble site designed to help modelers further their enjoyment in this hobby by completing projects they might not have time or tools for. I’m always available for any advice good or not so good! So please contact me if you'd like too. This site will change and progress as the train rolls down the tracks.
