HO Scale Custom Built United Brass 3 Truck Water Tender City Box Cab Locomotive. This model is my most difficult custom built todate since 1980. Many many custom fabricated parts went into building this one of a kind model with 250 hours total (with all the planning and figuring and tinkering needed to execute). The goal of this model was to build a box cab close to UFRR #8 locomotive and allow the tender to be removable (no drawbar) for easier handling and yet hide all electronics/wires. The model has custom all wheel pickups, custom detailed backhead, custom operating side windows & operating front slide door, operating bell, working stack cinder glow, ash pan fire flicker, backhead firebox flicker, headlight, cab light, interior box lights, full crew, lots of interesting details including rear coal load. Because of the tight (and I mean TIGHT) space available for the electronics only a Loksound 5 Nano sound decoder w/cube speaker and power circuit, (no other products would fit) (I tried several manufacturers). Tender is separtate with custom all wheel pickups with operating rear headlight, w/various details on deck. Tender has a TCS FL-2 function decoder with keep alive. While the model may look simple, this is a very complex model build. Climax's don't like electric box cabs on them :) For sound/light Test video. The follow below is the build (perhaps some out of sequence) pictorial of each step. (note some duplic pictures near bottom are simply higher pixel). Thanx Thom...
