Session 1 2025 Completed Projects Below:

Notice: I'm sorry for any out of place pictures below, the server has been migrating similar numbered pictures when publishing (most likely AI crap).  I'll correct this later when time permits.

Below:       Model Sold:                   Sound/light test video:                    Finished pics:
O-Scale Atlas/QSI DCC sound/lights cast model.  Model was custom lettered for Boston & Albany #133 switcher engine with smoke box and firebox sides sprayed with black pigments to cover over the silver original paint to give the flavor of an O-scale B&A steamer. The tender oil tank was heavily modified into a real coal tender load with front wood slates and a coal shovel crew member and re-railers added. All DCC sound/lights are QSI.  This was a simple build with lots of fun creating this flavored model.                                                                                                                                       Thanx Thom...

Below:        Model Sold:        Model test run video w/operating headlight:      Build pics:
HOn3 Far Est Distributors Brass/Cast frame Custom built to give the flavor of Martha's Vineyard Edgartown DC locomotive.  This model was custom cut down from an HOn3 into an HOn30 model.  Many custom parts either modified, or custom made along with many brass castings to help complete this model to give the flavor of Edgartown Engine.  This model build is one of my topmost complicated builds to date.  However, still a lot of fun to come close to the prototype.  I only had a few historic pictures to go by for this build.  This DC model has custom made fenders over each driver; the headlight operates in both directions.

Thanx Thom...

HO scale Oregon, California, & Eastern Railway Co. Intermountain Railway Co. U18b loco.  Model glues spots removed, and walkway side sill grit blasted and repainted with a custom to match the original purplish-blue paint. Unfortunately, the railings were too damaged to repair.  Customer to find replacement railings.                                                                    Thanx Thom...
Below:    Model Sold:                                     Sound/lights test video:
N-scale N.J. International Inc. Brass 2-car set custom rebuilt for Septa Commuter rail car service.  Both cars #252 & #269 have custom modified all wheel pickups, mounted operating couplers, blacked out windows, 2 cab operators in each end with clear open/close cab widows, Septa decals, Soundtraxx Nano Sound decoder for either DC or DCC operation, two Soundtraxx cube speakers, TCS keep alive cap-pak, 16 LEDs for operating bi-directional 3 set headlights w/rear red end marker lights and 6 continuous lighted number boards.  These cars are permanently electrically tethered together with no operating lights in between cars, both ends of cars have custom brass details added to each end steps, a ton of internal wiring and custom nickel-plated weathering. Note: the pantographs do move up and down (but are delicate) and custom made brass gear covers on trucks.  While these cars were interesting to complete, they were by no means easy to build.  These models can easily be heard from 8 feet away and all sounds/lighting can be adjusted in DCC mode only.  These cars operate as a DC set.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              Thanx Thom...
Below:    Model Sold:                                        Run/Sound test video
HO scale NJ custom brass T1 4-8-4 steamer w/Vanderbilt tender. Notice: model lead and trailing trucks are with customer.  Model Daiyoung original cast gear box worm was worn out and replaced w/NWSL plastic gearbox w/custom cut input shaft and custom installed ball & cup coupling over the old tubing design.  Model has a 6 lighting function 3.5 TCS wow decoder w/headlight, rear light, cab, underframe maintenance, and two separate colors under fire box LEDs lights. Also, two worn side rods were repaired, and two loose axles were replaced, and all four driver sets were re-quartered.  The rear tender light was drilled out and lit, headlight bulb was replaced with LED and new wires run. Touch up painting done.  Model now a smooth runner just like prior. Extra weight added.

Cab has custom detailing with 3-person crew, 3 operating lighted gauges, with dash conductor papers, custom made speed recorder, inward/outward facing camera.  This model has custom mixed primer/red/black paint, walkways have custom painted trim lines with Circus City custom limited flame decals w/ red/black striping, custom cut top nose black no skid decals w/circles cut around grabs and squares around sand caps.  Loksound V5 Integrated Atlas board nano sound decoder, custom baffled 1” Oval speaker with custom mounted resistor boards with custom made lighted dynamic glow box.  Custom ditch, steps, front truck ground, walkway, cab, dash gauges, nose interior exit door, exhaust flicker, number board & dynamic lights (for a total of 17 separate circuits). About 40 miles of motor winding wire with custom shaped lead weights throughout the shell for better traction. Model weighs 1.07 lbs. While this model was trying at times to build, it is very satisfying to see it completed.  Note: unfortunately, at this time no sound decoders with more than 10 lighting circuits exist and no separate function decoders that can work together with main decoder to handle this 17-circuit model (perhaps someday soon).  I’m glad this engine didn’t have 4 bulb beacons on top, what would've I done then with 21 circuits.
