Thom's Custom Trains

            Is a humble website that I felt was needed to help answer so many customer questions about what kind of work I offer or do I have any pictures of my work.  As a designer & builder in this hobby for over 40 years, I have only 2 regrets. 1) I wish I had taken pictures of my earlier works before 2001 (the only camera I owned till then was a polaroid).  2) I wish I had more time to model everything!  "Don't we all"!
    
            Here at Thom's my intention is to help with both & add to this "Worlds Greatest Hobby" by displaying & continually practicing my  skills to help modelers achieve the realism & fun we all strive for or simply don't have the time to get too!  As a builder the one thing I notice most from my customers is they feel the original investment they have doesn't always look or operate to its full potential.   The second thing I notice is some aren't up to date with all the new technology "DCC" or techniques of weathering in this constantly changing industry.

            This is where I would like to help add something to the hobby enjoyment by simply showing how custom work with weathering design or mechanically smooth operation & animated lighting bring even the oldest of brass or the crudest of plastic back to your layout with custom building, repair, painting & electrical standards to couple everything together with today’s sounds.      Thanx Thom...
